Not only that, but nearly the same amount of people plan to start a home improvement or design project in the next year. Most people said they would consult their local hardware store chain for design ideas, but don’t despair – there is also good news for interior designers. Over one third of people surveyed said they would hire a contractor or interior designer.

Home and design shows like “Trading Spaces” air many fun home makeover shows. Most of the time, somewhat outdated rooms are turned into modern spaces with taste and creativity.
Why do people love these shows so much? Because it offers them something valuable – ideas. Viewers learn different tricks of the design trade during these shows, and while they are learning on their own, there are a lot of homeowners who need or enjoy personal input and service.
